CareScout Cost of Care Survey 2025, Median Cost Data Tables (survey July-November 2025, published March 2, 2026). CareScout publishes New York statewide medians only; it publishes no Rochester, metro or memory care figure.

That is a statewide figure that blends New York City and Long Island prices with upstate ones. CareScout publishes no Rochester-area figure in its data tables, so we do not print one. Treat the state median as a ceiling check rather than a local price, and get written quotes from the residences on your list.

What does a nursing home cost in New York?

A semi-private nursing home room has a 2025 New York median of $15,528 a month ($511 a day) and a private room $16,729 a month ($550 a day), well above the national semi-private median of $114,975 a year.

Medicaid uses its own figure for the Rochester region when it calculates transfer penalties: $15,675 a month for 2026 in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne and Livingston counties, and $13,765 for the Western region that includes Orleans County. Those regional rates are an official benchmark of what a month of nursing home care costs locally.

What does in-home care cost per hour in New York?

CareScout's 2025 New York median for a non-medical caregiver is $35 an hour, which works out to about $6,673 a month at 44 hours a week.

Agencies around Rochester often set minimum shift lengths, and overnight or live-in care is priced differently. The hourly math shows where paying by the hour overtakes a monthly assisted living rate.

What does adult day health care cost in New York?

The 2025 New York median for adult day health care is $144 a day, about $3,120 a month for five days a week.

Medical adult day health care programs are licensed by the Department of Health and some are Medicaid-funded; social adult day programs, like those listed by the Monroe County Office for the Aging, are separate and often cost less.

Is there a published price for memory care in Rochester?

No; CareScout does not survey memory care at all, and no state agency publishes a Rochester memory care price, so any figure you see online for local memory care is an estimate, not a survey result.

SNALR beds usually cost more than standard assisted living in the same building. Ask each residence for its SNALR monthly rate and its level-of-care charges in writing, then compare like with like.
